DUE to a late night finish and a lot of traffic issues, only Neil Atkinson and John Gibbons are able to get themselves to TAW Towers to discuss Liverpool’s penalty shoot out victory over Carlisle United.
They have plenty to say though on another abject performance, lacking creativity, cutting edge and personality.
Thanks for doing the show tonight, as I can imagine neither of you would have felt arsed.
It feels like it’s been harder to dream these days when you consider the number of nightmares we’ve had.
All I can say is that I’m sick of feeling like this….
That was very hard to listen to without yanking my earphones off and muttering Greek swear words at the gym.
At some point, the idea of just speaking practically non-stop, with barely a moment of pause to breathe, whilst actually not having a real point that one is trying to make has to appear wrong to the speaker.
I don’t know if participants in the podcasts listen to them afterwards, but I suggest you/they do.
I shall continue faithfully listening to the podcasts because I think you’re all very genuine people who love Liverpool Football Club and who take being knowledgeable supporters very seriously.
There was only two of them as opposed for four or more there usually, so they individually had to say more to make a 30 minute podcast. Also, I assume they were drinking heavily, because I would’ve been. It’s the Pink, that’s kind of the point of it. The raw after match unfiltered rants that we all have down the pub after the game.
Not to pile on criticising you, it just seems like you’re taking this one show and that in the wider context of a month’s worth of shows I don’t see (or hear) the issues you’re bringing up.
Good on you for sticking the links up, though I can’t bring myself to watch that again.
How can you even say that??? Right now TAW is the best thing going for LFC fans. If only the results on the pitch were half as good…
Imagine being married to the Original G. Must be a riot, much like watching LFC. (hides under bed)
TheOriginal G…….
You are the end of a bell
Thanks for letting us know you were in the gym though!
The only thing Liverpool related that made me smile today,
Cheers Cox,
End of a bell indeed.
Why is that so weird? In other ‘threads’ people are talking about where they are in the world, what they’re drinking at the moment, what time it is there, etc.
I literally, honestly, listened to the podcast at the gym. I am not trying to insinuate anything. That’s where I happened to be at the time, that’s why I had headphones on.
How does it make me a “bell” that I am letting the participants know that listening to this particular podcast was extremely frustrating? Is it a bad suggestion or bad form to recommend that participants in these podcasts listen back to their own show, so they can have their own experience of it as ‘listeners’?
Anyway, for those who, like me, did not get to watch the match live (in person or on T.V.) here’s a link to the highlights AND complete match (1st half, 2nd half, Extra-time, and penalty-kick shoot-out):
http://www.fullmatchesandshows.com/2015/09/23/liverpool-vs-carlisle-united-highlights-full-match/
Whatever you do – don’t click that link. Watching the bloody thing live was bad enough, why would you want to watch it afterwards?
For my money (and you may scream bias here but I was listening long before I was contributing) that Pink was one of the best shows so far. Absolutely nailed the whole night, the despair, the reasons behind the despair, the full terror, the confusion that the eleven lads wandering around the edge of the box are engendering in the crowd at the moment.
Personally, I didn’t think the talking was particularly fast but, you know, Bootle and all that, kind of used to speaking quickly ;)
I I know what OG means. As it was just Neil & John on tonight and having to fill 40 mins there was a fair bit of waffling.
I mean John contradicts himself during it by saying that Phil shouldnt be shooting so much and that he is, is down to stats and someone saying score more. Then 20 mins and a lager burp later he’s praising Phil for being teh one to shoot more and trying to win it.
Tough to waffle for 40 mins when there are only 2 of you I suspect.
As for Neil’s point about people thinking that BR isnt the man without all the shit shouts and all the nonsense, I think most people who want BR out think like that, it;s just not that guy but there is always this focus on the twats and nutters who go on about frauds, shit, teeth etc. 95% of people who want a change do NOT think or say any of that shite and that dynamic has to be acknowledged.
You made a very good point there Andrew….you don’t have to be some muppet fuming on Twitter, complaining about Rodgers teeth or home life to acknowledge that the man has run out of ideas. Not everyone who thinks he’s ran his course is some venting loon. Some of us can actually back it up with valid opinion, facts and stats.
For me, there’s an air of inevitability about him going now so I really hope we are, at this min in time, sounding out Klopp, Ancellotti or someone of their ilk to come in. I suspect something might happen after the derby during the international break. Just a hunch.
Who FSG bring in to replace him will tell us everything about their ambitions for this club. Don’t listen to their bullshit spin simply judge the calibre of the man that comes next.
The pink is all about the match review. Maybe the gym isn’t the right place to listen to TAW player. Get your gym done and listen to TAW on the trip home. Guys are putting together a show when most of our heads are wrecked. Fair play to the lads and it was what it was. The pink. On a side note lads Rodgers is at the end of he’s tenure. FSG have to show their balls now.
I _like_ TAW and TAWPlayer. I like The Pink. That’s why I listen to it.
That’s why I subscribed.
I enjoy listening to the podcasts, staying connected to LFC, to the lads, etc. while everyone else around me is not.
Anyway . . .
The match football just looks and feels like Training Drills .
It is reasonable comment that the boys tonight are speaking VERY quickly – I had to check whether I’d hit x2 on podcast controls :)
However it’s clearly born out of frustration and also reflects the nature of ‘The Pink’ which is that very risky medium of ‘immediately after seeing that crap …..”
Thanks lads as always
Probably just wanted to get off home I’d imagine and you can’t really blame them for that. Unless of course you take being a knowledgable supporter of ‘Liverpool Football Club’ *very* seriously indeed. Whilst in the gym.
Thank you for the advice. Thank you for helping me figure out where I should and should not be listening to the podcasts.
If you don’t see the irony in that, then I give up.
Being from the Bootle area, I can confirm that the speed of the conversation is absolute par for the area.
No problem understanding from my end.
Anyway, that’s how it should be on ‘The Pink’ – raw, immediate, passionate.
Keep up the excellent work.lads.
Seconded, on all counts.
Don’t know why people are complaining. It was a fine show. It’s The Pink it’s not about sweet reason and I for one am impressed by Neil and Gibbo’s commitment to the cause given the time and how they must have been feeling.
I listen to TAW in the gym, on my bike, pretty much everywhere and am only annoyed by a combination of dead air, (I’ve no time for eeerrmms and ahhhmmms on the radio or podcasts) unoriginality and poor presentation. You don’t usually get that with Neil and Gibbo, TAW’s very own dynamic duo!
