Good to hear Gareth’s voice again! More Gareth, please!
Also, three cheers for Kieran Morris. Solid contributions, learned, analytical.
Alright, John and Rob were Ok, too. :-)
Once again in a sport which is increasingly obsessive towards a culture of blame one almost feels the need to point the finger for this particular issue, however to whom is the question? As these situations go hand in glove at all big clubs which are spending large in their endless pursuit for success it is simply an occupational hazard.
Admittedly it is how you manage the situation that makes a difference. In Mario’s case one certainly can’t blame BR as he couldn’t possibly have made his view on Balotelli any clearer 2 weeks before the club signed him. However in the Borini situation he’s BR’s choice and he paid top money for the player and he has acted very irresponsibly imo as he had every opportunity to manage the situation better last season giving Borini more playing time especially as goals were a scarce commodity last season and with virtually no strikers capable of contributing to goals. AND with the end game in mind of reaching a mutually beneficial arrangement during this transfer window.
Therefore both these situations could have been avoided and imo neither player can be held responsible. I would also definitely say likewise for Enrique as he’s been pretty solid for us when fit so I say good luck to the fella
