What on earth does holding on to Lucas have to do with whether Markovic would or SHOULD get a game?
Here’s a statement for you: Markovic should be playing in lieu of Lallana. There, that’s the spot for him.
I’ll 2nd that emotion well said mate. Along with many on the TAW it clearly appears we’re all thinking along the same lines. £25m for Lallana. The Saints well seen us coming, he’s worth no more than £15m and that’s being generous! Beside constantly being injured , easily pushed off the balland and forever preening his Boufant. WTF does he do FFS ?!
The status of whipping boy for the season for Lallana in set in concrete.
Signing 20 year old attackers for £20m, giving him most of his starts at wing back, wondering why he looks lightweight, hooking him off at half time a weird amount of times and then loaning him to Turkey after a season where careers go to wind down (we managed to get a decent premier league loan for Assaidi ffs)…
We’re still idiots. I’m not even that bothered because a good January aside he didn’t manage to show a whole lot but there’s all kinds of Europa and league cup games to be played where I don’t want our first/league team anywhere near.
This is not a great piece of insight but ideally he would have stayed at Benfica for another season or two, as when we got him he had only really played half a season, and mainly coming on a sub in the Europa league at that. But in order to beat Chelsea to him we went early.
For where he is at now I don’t think it really matters where he plays as he just needs to get some games under his belt. Fenerbahce is still a good club and he will play in the Europa league, so it is better for him than a spell at Derby or somewhere like that (with the new TV deal I don’t think your West Hams of the premier league need to take risks developing our players for us). For what it is worth I’m picking him to do well and come back and star for us, but then I am always pretty optimistic :)
The criticism of Rodgers inability to manage a squad in the league and Europe is a very valid one and should not be dismissed or sneered at.
All Liverpool managers should be expected to handle the season in both comps.
Rodgers has failed miserably at this in his 3 seasons with us, with the jury very much still out whether he can at all.
Some of the guys dismissiveness of this criticism is just weird.
