GARETH Roberts was joined by John Gibbons and The Echo’s Andy Kelly to chat to former Premier League and Liverpool Chief Executive Rick Parry.
In a wide-ranging interview, Parry talks about:
- The FIFA scandal, how it’s happened and what’s likely to happen next
- The formation of the Premier League and its place in European football
- TV rights, the cost of football and whether clubs could do more to ease the burden for fans
- Youth football, why England aren’t producing enough talented footballers and the steps that could correct it
Interesting stuff, I’m gad you guys were able to get Rick back on.
This is the sort of thing that puts the ‘big boys’ to shame.
Keep it up.
Another fascinating interview.
Disappointed about the brilliant insight we got into FIFA. I hadn’t even realised it was only CONCACAF that was being investigated. Makes a lot more sense to me now. Unlikely Blatter will be implicated at any point then.
Fair play to Rick Parry, he had a completely sensible answer to every point. Don’t get him on again. We as fans prefer conspiracies, scandal, scapegoats and complaining about incompetence. Any more of him and we’ll have nothing to get our knickers in a twist over. He’s far too reasoned and educated.
Great interview, glad you were able to get Parry on again and fair play to him for doing it. As mentioned above, I too hadn’t noticed the focus of the FBI investigation was on CONCACAF so thanks Mr Parry for pointing that out.
