I speak French and Digne is pronounced Dijne or Dijna. Well, at least the town of Digne is. Lovely little town. It’s just down the road from a weird place we used to call in at whenever we were passing called the Mandarom monastery in Castallane. They follow all religions and have massive statutes that can be seen in the hills for miles around like an action man standing on a lawn. Really odd place. Like a little India in the Alps. Lot of communes like that in France.
For the record Origi is Ori-gee as in the start of geese. I know that because I was looking at his goal record on Wiki last week and I noticed his page has one of those sound things where you can listen to a Belgium man pronounce his name. Dirk Kuyt has one too.
I’ll be honest, not liking the occasional reference to t-ow player. Surely it’s tore player. That would be a good name even if it wasn’t the initials but you know, what’s in a name.
