Enjoyed this! Nice to hear Ian on the podcast. Thought he brought something to the table. P.s my wife would be on the bus if it clashed with kick off time for the reds.
Nice to hear Joe Allen get some deserved praise too. Although his role is becoming a bit of an obsession with me I just like to hear a player given credit where it’s due. That JG doesn’t know what he’s on about, haha. 6? Only joking but I agree with Ian that Lovren is getting a bit of undue stick. He was part of a defence that kept a clean sheet and although I was concerned he would get sent off in the second half because he can’t help himself with his late tackles, he was ok and didn’t really merit a mention either way. Bit disappointed we’ve got City next in the league (unless we beat them then it’s the perfect fixture). Would like a fortnight to break into that top 4 before we risk dropping points and sliding back to 4 or 5 behind the pack. I would be confident except they play tonight and we play in Turkey on Thursday.
How about getting Coutinho to take some of the free kicks in front of goal.
Is there any history of him doing it.
Very enjoyable podcast. New fella was excellent, more of him please.
Good show, as usual. Promising debut from young Mr Salmon, nice to put a voice to a face.
“There’s a lad who sits next to me in the main stand – he’s about 80…” Ha!
Done some Suarez thinking after watching him last night: you know when Gerrard did his ‘all the best’ post-match interview about Southampton going 2v2 against Suarez and Sturridge with their centre backs and those centre backs were frigging Lovren and that Jose Fonte? How did we not win that game by more than 3 goals? A year on it just feels like sorcery.
