Truth is, I’ve no idea what happened yesterday. I’m only going on what I’ve read today.
It was a mixed day for me. Tickets were going for £250 and I managed to get one for £50 off a Norwegian Liverpool fan. The first half was a blur and then I got kicked out for my second attempt at making a dash for the Liverpool end. Not sure what I was thinking as I had a perfect seat on the half way line, surrounded by Liverpool fans in a great atmosphere. When I was in the police room we scored the second. Then heard the cheer in the bar on the corner for the third. Couldn’t believe it when I got back to the pub and saw it was 3-3.
Anyway, all I want to say is, despite not knowing what when on, I was quite pleased for us to ‘go for it’ last night. It’s been the way the seasons been and I thought it was fitting. It might not look so clever now but I’ve no complaints. Respect to them for trying.
Weirdest freakiest football day since last week which was the weirdest in ten years !!
Last week my son won his cup final but cried hours later as our whole family mum dad cousins and brothers who had come to watch him play then watched the match in a club bar in North London he blamed himself for liverpools loss because we all watched the pool in a Chelsea bar !! ( mum left the pub early to sit in the car, her scouse comes out when she swears and is angry )
We watched at home yesterday and don’t know who too blame for this loss , sky, my dodgy internet , talk sport ?
So while watching the match on our hooky sky at home, the pool haven’t scored yet and we are getting nervous because we need lots of goals ,
Then the dodgy sky freezes for about two mins, I’m fine with this and state when it comes back we will have scored, low and behold this is what happened, we watch the rest of th second half Nothing much happens,
Sky goes out again and while I’m trying to fix it my son checks he score on his phone ….. Dad we have scored two more
My wife says leave the TV off rich so I do , But the suspense is killing me I want to see and goal flashes on the net are not enough, it’s three nil
I want the TV on but my wife and my son say leave it , so I put on talk sport , talk sport was on for two mins exactly I heard both crystal place goals , I grab he phone and switch off talk sport we all sit in the sitting room TV off phones off ..
Then my younger son comes in and switched the TV back on just in time to see the third goal…..
Hearts are broken my son cries I beg for someone to lift up surez as I have lifted my son, no one does I shout at the TV and tell him to get off the floor , stevey hears me and grabs him up …..
I have seen only one goal replay which was Allens goal ( my surname also)
The rest happened in some weird vortex or some kind of figment of my imagination. After writing this I wake to find I have been unconscious after knocking myself out jumping up after the 7 goal went in, and that we won the match 8-2 . Pls someone pinch me so I can wake up and this isn’t all my fault !!!!
Coutinho simply did not mark or close down even remotely well for their 1st goal.
Well done, lads. We’re all dejected, but listening to your analysis got me right back into the bullish mood I was in before the game.
And that Moses chance still haunts my mind.
If Lucas cannot do as good a job as Henderson at his best in the runner/box-to-box midfielder, are we thereby also not saying that Gerrard cannot do it, either?
And if neither Gerrard nor Lucas can do a ‘good enough’ job being like Henderson at his best, is it logical to put Lucas in his spot, as opposed to Gerrard? Who has more experience in that role? Who has the ‘instincts’ of that type of player more? Gerrard or Lucas? When was the last time Lucas played in such a role on a regular basis? When he was last with Gremio?
So, despite what has become indisputable truth, which trade-off is preferable? Lucas instead of Gerrard in the DM/controller position and Gerrard instead of Lucas in one of the two runner/box-to-box midfield positions OR what BR has been going with and went with vs CFC and CPFC?
Who would be asked a tougher set of questions: Gerrard as runner/box-to-box or Lucas as DM/controller?
If anyone honestly answers Gerrard, then maybe we should be talking about Gerrard and not about Lucas.
And yet, it was LUCAS who was asked to play, with about 110 mins of competitive playing time after returning from injury, against CFC and CPFC in the unfamiliar (by now) position. And people are criticizing LUCAS.
There’s something wrong with this picture, I am sorry.
This is far from over,
If Villa or the Irons have City held with twenty to go you can be guaranteed that City will get nervy as it’s now there’s to lose,
Great show by the way lads,
Again.

(Plus big Andy will get a brace)
Yes! You still finished with ‘and Liverpool will win the league.’ Being in Seoul, I’ve been relying on The Anfield Wrap to get me through this mental season and I definitely needed to hear that today. We are gonna with the Football League!!!
We are gonna WIN the Football League!
Big thanks for that podcast , it helped a lot . I’m feeling better . Not sure i can bring myself to watch the city game tonight though :-)
