Starting to believe it now. When it was 14 to go it seemed mad.
I want to look back on these posts and feel we should never have doubted the Tricky Reds.
Can’t wait for the Newcastle match, because whatever happens we’ll be saying to each other that we’re in the Champions League. And a ‘proper’ European night at Anfield will be something to behold, again.
Pleased for the lads that their New York trip and podcast was centred around that game. Imagine if we’d lost. Sounded great. Love the fact that a bar in New York was made up of English, American and Argentinians and no hostilities. Gotta love footy, the international language. Martin made some good points. Loved the bit about Suarez wanting a yellow. God loves a trier. Suarez has become a real team player. Sunday was great. Almost hard to appreciate what we achieved. Kind of felt it was standard and took it for granted almost. Phoned my sister after the game, she’d just got back in the car. She told me her, her partner and my 70 year old dad had been punched, rained with coins and verbally abused by Man Utd fans with contorted faces whilst in one of the corporate boxes (I declined the offer). Oh how we laughed, safe in the knowledge we had the 3 points.
P.s Darrel3000, you asked for our opinion and mine is you’re slightly misguided. Dirk Kuyt is a top bloke but the reality is he’s not as good as people think. It’s a myth based on being a work horse. Brilliant in big games, scored loads of important goals but exactly the type of player that’s made us average for so long. Average player. Compare him to our current work horse Henderson. He gives it all every game, bar none, and has real quality. I was glad to see the back of Kuyt. I hate us losing to the Stokes and Bolton’s of this world. We don’t need to worry about that now. We’ve got team spirit. Bearing in mind what we’ve got now I found your question appalling. Respect to ya for your shameless advertising though. Spot on mate!
“Average player”
Since when do “average players” get 98 caps for Holland?
Since John Heitinga
Awful…..What a waste of a show. It was like listening to rowdy drunks in a bar. Awful,
I kinda agree with this, although I don’t want to. Have to be honest, I’m more of a fan of the calm discussion in a studio a day or 2 after the game rather than in a bar the day of the game with everyone full of Lager.
I think you both need to chill and just enjoy!
This podcast proves how much above their station the Anfield Wrap have gotten.
The fact that they are all bladdered just makes it even more annoying.
Just waiting for NA to jump into the crowd at the end.
Fucking bollocks.
It’s a live show. That’s the point. Go easy and stop watching games against Utd in yours with no mates or ale.
TAW lads in post-utd mauling drunken shocker! Who would have thought it??
James, Cuzzy….lads, were you honestly expecting them not to be proper beered up after that game?
Sounds like they took full advantage of the NYC hospitality and good on them. Of course they will be slightly less coherent but who gives a fuck after smashing utd at their place?!
Keep up the good work TAW, the tricky reds march onwards and upwards!!
I love the show. Its great the best out there. But after that win I was expecting a slick coherent show. Instead I got a druken mess of shouting, and hard to make out mess. Sorry guys but really disappointed.
I know, what with the fact that the podcast costs us so much every time we download it…
I couldn’t talk, let alone conduct a podcast after Sunday. In fact, I’m still a bit stunned by it all.
Keep up the great work lads, one drunken mess once in a while is how footie should be!
Not one mention of Glen Johnson! Pity. I thought he was terrific.
The TAW lads like feedback so I’m just giving it. It’s no big deal, I think the majority of what they do is fantastic. The magazine is superb, most of the podcasts are too. I realise it’s all free but I feel I should still be able to give negative feedback as long as it’s constructive and not over the top.
Bad let down that podcast.
Got to agree with the others who are disappointed with this weeks podcast. The previous live shows have been so much better because no one was drunk.
I love listening to the show when we win because it’s so upbeat and its great to listening to the lads analyse the game. This week however, I switched off halfway through due to too much incoherent shouting.
Doing a postcast after a game is fine but doing it when drunk is pretty unprofessional. Nothing agisnt the show in general becuase I love it. Just don’t like the ones when the guys have been drinkings
Nice one for the comments. Back to normal with Friday’s CityTalk show and the post-Cardiff City podcast.
Would tend to agree that I felt a little bit like the designated driver while listening to the podcast. That said, I still really enjoyed it (Gibbo was hilarious) and would hate for you guys to reign in your post-match celebrations on account of us. That would go against everything the show stands for and would be taking talking about football way too seriously (please never do that). Just as long as you never do a loss or a bad draw while hungover I am happy, as they can be really depressing. Maybe you should just add a little warning in the title recommending how many pints one should have before listening.
One drunken podcast after a couple of years of hard work highlighted one of the great things about the wrap which is its diversity. You don’t want a live show every week but after such a historic victory who gives a fuck, and what it lacked in sober analysis it made up for in atmosphere and encapsulated the feeling that we are at the beginning of a wonderful journey that we are all going to enjoy and if you can’t go bananas after that, when can you
