Really not picking on the lad with the husky voice. But when hes on I have to turn off…his voice is really hard to listen to guys. Sorry,
Had another go at listening to the show lads. Again the frontman is a great presenter and keeps it rolling smoothly like a Xabi Alonso, from topic to topic. But even he cant compete with husky voice man. Again great content for the show but ruined by the husky voice man, who sounds like hes got a cold. I struggle to listen, as he coughs in the background. He interrupts constantly to get his point of view across which is never great or constructive . He also lacks professionalism in his poor language. Hes awful. A great show let down by a Djimi traore presenter. Please move him on!
That would be Andy Heaton who I think pioneered the whole Anfield Wrap concept. He had a throat op.
Is this a wind up?!
Is the original comment a wind up I mean, not the reply!
Pipe down, crank. No one’s forcing you to listen so don’t bother if it’s taking a shit in your sunroof.
Sorry James, but if you are not one of Heaton’s mates trying to work him up then you not very good at giving constructive feedback. He can hardly change his voice can he? Would never have occurred to me to find it annoying and I always enjoy the show when he is on.
He could do impressions.
I really like his voice. Each to their own, eh?
Top show lads…don’t mind the moaners.
Unfortunately I was at work whilst the match was on but have since watched it in full and it played out pretty much how I thought it would. I sit next to a pessimistic Liverpool fan (I know, there are a few left) at work who lost his head as soon as the 1st Cardiff goal goes in…and what does his head in even more is that I’m calm as fuck? I just know that we’ve got the mindset and ability to do the business at the other end.
Fulham away was the turning point for me this season in terms of the teams mentality to able to manage a game and turn around a deficit. No less important was the Stoke away game in which they displayed a lot of the same character but the Fulham game took us right to the wire and I just think that regardless of when the opposition score we have an ingrained belief that we can score more and terrify them.
Despite how many Cardiff scored, we were always going to score more…and Oily Gonorrhoea Schlongscar with his little tantrum can fuck right off…back into the Championship. Good luck with Mr Tan, you deserve each other…
Up the tricky reds..!!!
James reminds me of a typical football fan’s missus who isn’t happy in the relationship…hates it when he’s had a drink, can’t stand the sound of his voice, and makes arsey comments in front of his mates just for a reaction.
But apart from that she loooooves him!
Come on James lad…announce your true colours, you’re either a bitter or a manc which is it?
Really not trying to moan. I love the show. Even though it looks like that. Just giving my honest opinion. The lads want feedback and that’s mine. I knew it would ruffle feathers, but again I have to be honest. Sorry if i upset or annoyed people it wasn’t my intention.
Just read James Deans comments! Hilarious. And they call me crazy. Keep ’em coming Deano!
Leave it, heaton’s a dreamboat.
Enjoyed the podcast. Disappointed no one was drunk and all we got was coherent analysis.
Interesting listening to the Sunderland bloke. The way he was talking they might as well just give us the points and stay at home. Is this what we’ve become? Are people gonna look at the fixtures and think I’ll rest a few against them as we have more important games that we’ve got a chance in, or let’s see how little we can get beat by. That’s progress in itself.
Is Suarez Liverpool’s best striker? I’ve just watched that video of all Liverpool’s goals this season. I sat there watching in shock and awe. What a season we’ve had!! (no, I haven’t just noticed but to see it in one video has shocked me). When you’ve just witnessed something incredible then one tends to go over the top about how good it was. Well, I want to know who is a better player ever, worldwide. How can you be better than Suarez? What can you do that makes you better? Please don’t tell me any of those 70’s pie eating, beer swilling playboys are better. Why can’t someone be the best player ever until he’s long been consigned to history. An example would be, who would win between Bjorn Borg and Andy Murray? Borg would have to change his pathetic wooden racket after every return of a Murray serve. What can Pele do that Suarez can’t? Or Cruyff? If Suarez has been around in the middle ages he’d have been on the ducking chair to see if drowned.
Another revelation I had watching the video was how good Sturridge is. Again, I knew he was good but maybe he’s the 2nd best striker in Europe at the minute.
I literally can’t wait till Wednesday. I considered taking some valium and getting someone to wake me Wednesday tea time but I have to think of work as well. I’m definitely finishing early so I can get to the ground at 6 and welcome the players with the flag lads. It feels that big. There should be more than 4 midweek PL fixtures in a season. Sack Sunday’s off and move them to Wednesday nights. Oh well, I’ll just have to wait 20 weeks or so and go to the Champions League matches.
Enjoyed the show thought husky sounded like Mickey Thomas!
Another spine tingling episode, raspy voice and all. In fact, I’ll add that the harshness added a certain je nais sais quoi that was gutsy. That the man went on, even after a throat operation, deserves a pat on the back in my book. Keep up the good work, lads, it does my spirit well.
Great show, lads. I liked the score predictions. I spent some time yesterday pondering if we could win any one of our remaining games 1-0. Conclusion: yes. Certainly not against the Billionaire Blues but in the final game of the season, against Newcastle, to win the title, we’ll score a late goal and fall over the line victorious. Apart from ageing me 10 years in 90 minutes, it will be the sweetest of sweet Anfield moments. The tea leaves couldn’t tell me who scores so that’s up for debate but getting a vibe for Aspas. It’s meant to be.
In truth, I found some of the voices a bit squeaky on this podcast. Can you look for more guests that fall into the soprano or contralto ranges please?
I would consider giving Stevie a rest and bringing Lucas for this game for a couple of reasons. I know he is our talisman and he is going to carry us on his back to the title but I reckon he could do with a rest, if not physically then mentally as it can’t be easy carrying the weight of the city around on your shoulders every game. He has been amazing lately, particularly in the big games but thought he was missing a bit of urgency in his defensive work at Cardiff. Also, just read that if he picks up another booking before the city game he will miss the next two. Plus I expect that we are going to need Lucas at some point between now and the end of the season and if he doesn’t get a game against sunderland then he may be a bit underdone if we need him for one of the big (hopefully title deciding) home games against City or Chelsea. Would also bring in sakho and maybe go for the jugular with coutinho in the midfield and sterling on the right of a top three (still my favourite formation, particularly when we have the chance to blow teams away), so if we get our eight goals early on we can rest Suarez and or Sturridge for the game on the weekend.
Gerrard CAN rest and Lucas CAN come in for him; when Stevie is suspended for the Tottenham and West Ham games after picking up a late deliberate booking against Sunderland (assuming we win, and even if we don’t). This is the way Mourinho would play it (and has – check out Suarez on this clip too! – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3t1RvkeixIQ ) ; Gerrard MUST be available for the City game so why take the risk of being booked in either of the Spurs or West Ham games? Just take the likely 2 game suspension when it is least damaging (I’m sure this is what we’d all do on Football Manager – set tackling to hard if it isn’t already, for example) Different manager etc. but we beat Spurs 5-0 away without Gerrard. He can come back fresh for the City game without suspension worries and lead us to title glory then!
Another great podcast. I think the lads and the guests were all very knowledgeable as per
Born in pinehurst rd 47 years ago, held a season ticket through some incredible times, had to give it when skint. And was heartbroken through the shit times, anyway ive been in a scrap with cancer for the last 16 months and this side is doing me no end of good. Even if the irony is i have a heart attack. I love this site, dont care about voice tones, its people who love the club. Slightly off my tits on chemo, so need to sleep now. Roll on tomorrow. Red till i die.
Ok just like to say. I didn’t actually know one of the presenters had throat cancer and had been in for an operation. If I had known that, id never had commented on it. I love the show, and was trying to give back constructive criticism, that was all. This reply section isnt about me its about the show. Again my apologies if offence was caused.
You have a right to comment James. I think he interrupts too much too, but I’m sure he does excellent work for the site and the programme as a whole.
