YOU’VE listened to the podcast, read the website and heard the radio show. This is the next thing – The Anfield Wrap magazine.
And our first ever issue features a real scoop – previously unheard audio of legendary Liverpool manager Bill Shankly.
How can it feature audio? Well we say magazine, but it’s more than that.
It’s a made to measure mag for the digital age – the first fan-produced publication to focus solely on Liverpool and made specifically with the iPad in mind.
So this isn’t just another PDF floating around in cyberspace. It’s a magazine featuring video, audio and eye-catching design. This is a magazine you can play with as well as read and it’s available now in Newsstand and across the world.
It brings Reds all over the world agenda-free views and analysis from supporters on football, fashion, music, culture and more related to Liverpool – the club and the city.
Best of all, it’s FREE.
There’s no catch, no gimmick, no download fee – and there never will be. Every couple of months, there’ll be a new TAW magazine, free to download, direct to your iPad.
This is an idea that’s been in the making for some time. We’re still ironing out a few glitches here and there and this is very much a pilot issue. So if you think this is good we promise future issues will be even better – and we do intend to make it available on other platforms.
More than two million LFC fans have now listened to our award-winning podcast. We hope you give our magazine the same support. We hope you like it.
Get on it.
The Anfield Wrap.

Looks great guys. You are producing some lovely material.
Well done and thanks!
It would be nice if you can make one for Android too if possible…
Got on it. Boss.
Another welcome addition to the Anfield Wrap family. Not read it all yet but really impressed with the, as Rafa would say, “Quality” of this first edition and will be spreading the word to all who will listen.
Ta to all who helped make it and keep up the good work!
I’ve been reading the iPad magazine. Great so far! Just a couple of things. Rob Guttman’s piece on JW Henry is in white font on Black background, this makes it incredibly difficult to read and I now have a headache. No more white font on black scree please. Its a bad idea.
Also agreed with what Rob was saying in is particular piece until he suggested increasing the wage bill. Well the last acounts showed our wage bill at 73% of turnover which is considered dangerous by any financial expert. Aston Villa had a wage to turnover of 90% trying to chase a dream of competing at the top end and they have got into a situation where they have HAD to get rid of most of their senior profressionals on high wages. They now face relegation. Portsmouth already went down this route. They got an FA Cup out of it but look at them now.
Our wages in the last accounts were only £18m less than Man United which is shocking when you consider what United’s turnover is compared to ours not to mention the performance they get out of their players with a wage bill not that far superior to ours. Our wage bill is higher than Arsenal’s and dwarf’s Spurs – so does our net spend on transfers – so there is no excuse as to why we shouldnt be ale to get into the top four with our current financial strategy. Once consolidated in the Campions League then the spending can go up another level.
More attention needs to be focused on who is evaluating talent at the club. Scouting, recruitment and coaching needs to be looked at more critically than the cliched we need to spend more. We already spend the 4th most in the league amd we’re 4th in the wage table but struggle to get close to the top 4. FSG have spent £79.3m net since they bought the club. That’s the 4th most in the PL in that period of time just £8m less than United. It’s also the 10th highest in the world. Only 9 clubs in world football have outspent LFC since FSG bought the club. Chelsea, City, United (just), Real, Bayern, Zenit, Anzhi, Juventus, Milan (just). We’ve outspent Barca, Dortmund, Inter, Napoli, Atletico, Arsenal, Spurs and rest.
Great magazine though!
Sorry I forgot about PSG. They have surely outspent us so make that 10 clubs in world football spending more than us.
Downloaded to iPad mini but can’t open articles. Am I missing anything or just thick? (Age 53 so not tech savvy)
Not seeing it on Newsstand either.
Hi there,
I’ve downloaded the app in my newsstand on my ipad2, but when select to download the magazine, it says ‘connecting’ & the timer keep spinning around. Not working. Is there a bug or something?
