Meh – quite happy with my soggy digestive biscuit thanks.
Pampered pooches the lot of you! ;-)
Your deffo shrinking Heaton!
Easy now
Andy, that photo bites. I look balder and more demented than I do in real life. The camera is lying. Lying I tells ya !
Some of you guys should seriously consider rice cakes instead of Laura’s treats.
Looks like a line-up of contestants heading onto ‘The Biggest Loser’. Is Jim wearing a pair of Clarks Wallabees? If so, he is comfortably leading the fashion stakes on that basis alone.
Great show as always – consistently high standards, although one or two more contrary voices mightn’t be a bad thing.
I resent that comment, i’m positively svelte
Nice podcast guys.
One thing in regard to Adam, not sure if anyone notice but to me it seems to struggled when he’s under pressure. When we’re in control of the game and dominant he’s ability on the ball is really good but it seems as soon as we come under pressure when he’s closed down quickly he gets exposed. His off the ball work is also not that good as yet, positioning and movement at times too needs a lot more work.
As for the defence sitting so deep – think part of it is down to the lack of pace and lack of composure (especially in the Wolves game – where our passing in general was woeful – we struggled to keep possession all over the pitch) but in defence especially. Half of Carra’s passes were misplaced (the long ball and short pass). Having Agger in defence helps with that but how much we can rely on him is another thing with his fitness. It’s something that really annoyed Reina under Hodgson when the defence was almost sitting right on top of him.
Great podcast.
Comment re Adam – if you give him the opener against Wolves he’s got 2 goals and 2 assists this season. With Henderson netting one these two new lads have been involved in 5 of the 8 goals we’ve scored. I think Adam will be massive for us even if he doesn’t seem to make 90 mins at this stage.
Top work again fellas. Even enjoyed the Everton perspective included in this episode! Totally agree with the Adam comments, but I think it lacked a touch of recognition of his contribution during those first 45-60mins of matches (esp. against Bolton and Wolves).
Refreshing to be having the debate about our selection dilemmas ahead of Saturday too. So many choices to make – “and Ngog isn’t one of them” – quality!
YNWA
Bellamy no neck shld start on the right vs the bitters, with Dirk up front with Bellamy with neck. Henderson will be found wanting.
And Jay in the middle. Adam has been out of form. Derby is no place to look for it.
This is the CL final for the blueshite, we need to stick it to them. Sitting back like 2nd half v wolves will invite trouble.
Having said that I fully expect the same lineup. And probably a loss from it.
Btw
How about a guest each week in for a chat segment? Get Rafa in hes not busy. Plenty of ex reds to call upon.
Also maybe a segment responding to listeners questions.
And a fucking jingle fellas.
Enjoying the website lads. I just wanted to point out something that hasn’t been mentioned about Andy Carroll yet. It’s only his second season in the Premier League, some say that’s the hardest. Also keep in mind that with Newcastle, he played half a season and so teams didn’t know how to handle him or what to expect. Now they do!! Plus, he’s now playing for a new team and is probably coming to tearms with the speed of our movement and passing (compared to NUFC) as well as the opposition being prepared for him.
Give him time to adjust and he’ll settle in just fine, I think.
f*ck me i never knew l6 looked like that phwaraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Just listened to the podcast and heard the Evertonian say they had been offered a site on Edge Lane. As far as I was aware, I heard that site had already been agreed to Archbishop Blanch School and possibly St. Margaret’s School as well on the one site.
Maybe my information is old, but I’m sure both can’t have been offered the same site.
Another cracking listen.
It was Gary Gillespie on LFC TV who said Adam is better than Alonso. If I remember rightly his exact words were “Charlie is even better than Xabi Alonso ever was”.
