By Jove, I do truly adore a good ‘Any Flipping Question’ on the jolly old Anfield Wrap! (that is what it stands for isn’t it?)
I’m a huge Clemm fan, I started supporting the Red’s around ’78-’79 but I would argue that Grobbs’ was a better keeper all ’round. Clemence was really reliable but Grobbelaar had more moments of brilliance to his game.
No way, I can go back even further starting with Bert Slater and Ray Clemence definitely gets my best keeper vote as he combined commanding goalkeeping consistency with athleticism and first continued the sweeper role started by Tommy Lawrence. Clemence also was good with his feet and always wanted to be an outfield player. One season I think he only conceded 16 goals in one season.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great show guys. I really enjoyed this one.
