Nothing to be done, nothing to be done. Neil reluctantly talks about missed chances, Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat to West Brom and Jordan Henderson with Rob, Mike, Kristian, Jim, Peter Hooton, Alex Koschier and Ragnhild ‘Ronnie’ Lund Ansnes.
Ronnie helps lighten the mood as she talks about her new book ‘Liverpool Heroes’ and helicopter-riding hungover with Bruce Grobbelaar, while Neil manages to go a whole hour without mentioning Roy Hodgson. Almost.

What do you say to someone when they say you’re watching a different game to them regarding Jordan Henderson? 2 words – Lucas Leiva.
I somehow managed to get into an argument with a Red that I’d never met before in a gym, who claimed Lucas hadn’t got a clue and was one of the worst players in the league. After agreeing to try and look at things from my point of view that Lucas was more than competent, and a leader in the middle of the park, I never ran into this bloke again, but I’m pretty sure he’ll have changed his mind by now. That’s the only example needed.
Jesus, Charlie Adam hasn’t played for weeks, give him a break
His hollywood balls are hard to forget!
I seem to spend my life defending the potential of Henderson. At last you’ve given me a way of describing his role. A ‘shuttler’. I gonna use that now. good stuff. cheers.
Cannot believe the criticism that Suarez was getting early on in the show. You can criticize Suarez when a single other midfielder/forward steps up and does one fucking thing creatively.
Suarez should be the one getting the service and having chances laid on for him. The problem is the current Liverpool midfield is so weak that he almost has to do everything himself.
Very much looking forward to seeing Lucas and Jordan form a CM partnership next season and beyond. Was fantastic to see him step up in the absence of Stevie. Big Andy was great too, his partnership with Suarez (and his other teammates for that matter) is finally starting to click. If only someone could put the ball in the back of the net!
interested in the point that was made about henderson, that while having a good game, he visibly appeared to shrink once bellamy came on and took over corners.
the same thing has happened before with gerrard, when his come on, players such as (younger lucas), spearing, henderson, adam have all suddenly start to play within themselves, same happens when jamie carragher is in defence.. skrtel visibly shrinks in confidence.. of the young players only shelvey seems immune to this, he plays as if he thinks hes the best player on the pitch.
who fault is this and what can be done to address it, is it bellamys, gerrards, or carraghers fault? are they overpowering, demanding too much from the people around them? or is it the younger inexperenced players fault, oh here comes the club superstars, lets leave it to him.. so they start to coast and the superstar then has to work twice as hard “carrying water”.
some of the current squad seem happy to play at a certain level, not prepared to bust a gut, and step up onto the next level.. (Downing im looking at you).. henderson looks good, has good technique, is always available, have we damaged his progress playing him out wide? time will tell.. but mental strength and determination have to be factored in when scouting players..
signing for liverpool shouldn’t be the pinnacle of a players career.. it should be the start of their career, and they will only get rewards if they are prepared to step up and except the challange!!
Glad to hear someone say Carroll needs pinning down and his ponytail cutting off. I’ve long held the belief that players need to be smartened up a re-focused but that they probably need to do it themselves. Lucas chopped his Latin wig and the result was pretty much instant!
